MLBCC is a community and arts center located in Cambridge, MA.
The mission of the Maria L. Baldwin Community Center is to be a place that nurtures lifelong creativity and learning and serves as a forum for civic advocacy and engagement through dynamic, community-based programs for all ages. The center consists of various groups representing diverse age ranges and programming, including arts, health, wellness, and community advocacy.
While this creates a vibrant atmosphere, it posed a challenge for brand unification. Over the years, the emergence of minibrands had diluted the Center’s identity and confused the audience.
Gill Fishman Design created a cohesive umbrella brand architecture that unified all communications through a consistent color palette, typography system, and brand personality. We supported this identity with authentic, in-the-moment photography that captured genuine moments of engagement and connection. By reorganizing the website to clearly reflect the umbrella brand structure, we made it easier for audiences to understand the organization and its initiatives. Across all visual communications, we used graphics and imagery that conveyed positivity, inclusivity, and representation across all ages and backgrounds.
