Unifying a Legacy Organization for the Future
The mission of the Maria L. Baldwin Community Center is to be a place that nurtures lifelong creativity and learning and serves as a forum for civic advocacy and engagement through dynamic, community-based programs for all ages. The center consists of various groups representing diverse age ranges and programming, including arts, health, wellness, and community advocacy.
Challenge
The Maria L. Baldwin Community Center serves a diverse community through arts, education, wellness, and civic engagement. Over time, multiple program identities had emerged, creating an inconsistent brand experience and making it difficult for audiences to recognize the Center as one unified organization.
Our Solution
Working in collaboration with ESC, a strategic marketing consultancy, Gill Fishman Design (GFD) translated a comprehensive brand strategy into a cohesive visual identity. Building on ESC’s strategic research, positioning, and messaging, we created a unified brand system and digital experience that brought the Center’s diverse programs together under one recognizable identity. From the identity system and photography direction to the website architecture and visual language, every element was designed to create clarity, strengthen recognition, and reflect the Center’s renewed vision.
The result is a flexible brand system that unifies the organization while allowing each program to retain its own identity under the Maria L. Baldwin Community Center umbrella.
Partnership
Our relationship with the Maria L. Baldwin Community Center spans more than a decade. After designing the original Maud Morgan Arts website nearly ten years earlier, Gill Fishman Design was invited back to help bring the Center’s new strategic vision to life. We developed a visual identity and digital experience that unified the organization while honoring its diverse programs.
Today, we continue to provide creative guidance and brand support as the organization evolves.
